Eat your food!!

"Come on people... Appreciate your food!!"

Went for dinner with family at the Fettes Park Cafe, the famous western food place next to the famous chicken rice place.

The food was ok, boleh tahan (that's not the point of this post), but the thing that i tak boleh tahan is the table behind us. Look at their food!!

So much leftovers!! OMG!! They practically ordered a dish, then just ate the meat and left everything else untouched!! Don't they know the meaning of WASTE!?!?! If a homeless man would live off the leftovers, he would even get fat in no time. In fact, he'd become so fat that he'll be unable to fit through the entrance of the cafe!!

For comparison, look at our table.

Squeaky clean!!

+RM0.50

Fuel prices are going down, but parking fees are going up... WTF!
This notice was posted on the payment machine of QB's outdoor carpark.

The open site carpark is full of potholes. There are also no parking lines, everyone will park to their own liking. There was a time when my car got surrounded by other parked cars! Front, back, left, right, terkepung!! Luckily the car beside mine was also leaving when i reached my car, abo sure got stranded liao...

Hopefully with the +RM0.50 increase, things will improve...

Gettin Slow...

Things are getting slow on the field lately. With no teams playing, we only get to do 1 on 1, or 2 on 1 drills for the pass month. I missed the thrill and excitement of playing some real matches, the satisfaction of playing as a complete team...

Playing with ourselves for the pass month, I'm starting to falter. I forgot how to play tight, keep exposing myself too much. Couple that with the unfamiliarity of using a new marker (it's leaking air again, and my o-ring supplies are super low), I'm so not in shape.

The upcoming mini tournament later this month will be a good warm-up for next year's tournament season. Let's hope things will start to pick up soon....

Notes to self :
  • Always treat every game as a real match, let the subconscious mind get used to playing competitively.
  • Do not come out of the same spot when snap shooting. Fully utilize every angle of a bunker, mix up your timing, and keep your opponents guessing.
  • Play TIGHT!! Play TIGHT!!
  • Always be ready to shoot on sight.

A day at the paintball field

Today must be the longest day at the field for me.

I was asked to take care of the field in the afternoon because everyone else is busy. I have no choice but to find someone else to replace me in my other job (thanks Charis...), but my replacement can't cover my whole shift so i still have to go punch in for one hour. And then later they told me there were 20 people coming to play. 20!!! and i have to handle them all by myself!! OMG...

So again, i have no choice but to go to the field at 10am, get ready all the markers, fill up the tanks, and then drive all the way back to QB just to work for one hour, and then drive all the way to the field again.

Apparently, the group was from the AirForce (that's what i was told), and were having their own mini tournament. They were divided into 4 groups competing against each other. This was perhaps the most tiring marshalling i've ever done, there were no rest time in between matches! The players were playing as 4 groups, so they have plenty of time to rest when another group was playing, but i have to be involved in every single match. And they keep taking off their masks mid-game, had to shout at them to put them back on, but then they would look at me with their gong gong 'what's-the-matter' expression... Haiz, you thought these military people would be more diciplined, but they never paid attention when i briefed them on paintball safety...

After that another group came. This time it was the regulars, so i don't have to do much marshalling, just leave them to their games... relax relax a bit.

Finally when they all went back, and picking up everything by myself, it was already 8:30pm. Was starving like crazy, only get to have dinner at 9pm.

Don't be surprised to see me become so dark when the new sem starts...

NPPL is history?

Is this true? Is this news creditable? Just saw this paintball blog online that says the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) is now no more...

Pacific Paintball LLC, the company who owns NPPL, has filed for bankruptcy. Seems hard to believe, one of the biggest paintball event in the world is no longer running. I've checked around on the internet and found this on the PB2X website:

"By now you probably have heard that Pacific Paintball and its subsidiaries will be filing proceedings under the United States Bankruptcy Code to effect a liquidation of their respective assets and business operations. This includes our magazine, the NPPL, and all of Pacific Paintball’s other companies."

PB2X is a subsidiary of Pacific Paintball LLC, so information from their website should be creditable.

The NPPL has always been a major paintball event in every paintballer's calender, something to look forward to. Everyone in the paintball community will undoubtedly feel the lost, from professional players to casual players, from speedballers to woodsballers. What a pity....

Hopefully this will be something temporary. Hopefully someone else will come along and carry on Pacific Paintball LLC's legacy.
