Girly...

"Not 'girly' as in the feminine type, but 'girly' as in disgusting..."

Remember the bulu ayam served to us (see previous post here)? I thought that was as worse as it can get. But I was wrong.

Yesterday we were having breakfast in the cafeteria as usual, Maggie goreng. Suddenly my colleague shouted out "I got extra ingredients in my rice!!"

They fried the snail together with the Maggie!! And the most disgusting part was when we cracked open the shell, the snail's meat was still in there!! Eeww... My appetite suddenly went to zero, yet I had to finish my food, or else... motanai!!

The good part is, there's only one week left before internship ends :)

什么毛毛东西

I'm currently doing my internship. The company i work in treats their employees very well, so well that each of us get RM75 every month as food allowance at the canteen! I'm so glad we're given such nice treatment.

The food at the canteen has so many choices, we have the same 10 to 20 dishes every single day of the week! Yupe you read that right, 10 to 20 choices!! The cashiers are also very nice to us, sometimes when his/her mood is good, we'll get cheaper prices. The only downside is that we have to put up with the bad moods as well. This results in us being charged with difference prices everytime. Not a bad thing considering we still get to enjoy the 'good moods'. I really shouldn't be complaining.

That is not all. The best part is, 2 of my colleagues were given extra ingredients for their rice yesterday! Wow, I guess the canteen staffs were really in a 'good mood'. Just look at the pictures below, such delicious and mouth watering ingredients, they really work up your appetite don't they.

Chicken feather....

... and don't-know-what-animal's hair

I really cannot express my gratitude enough, to be given the chance to have my daily meal at this canteen for the next 3 months! OMG.... Thank you!!

Coconut Jelly

Went for a game of badminton the other day. After that we went to Dato Keramat for some yummy coconut jelly. The place is situated along the busy Dato Keramat road, near the new Penang Times Square, it was not easy finding a nice parking space.

It looks like a regular coconut from the outside, with the husk removed leaving the inner shell. Inside, the meat is still intact, but the coconut water has been replaced with coconut flavoured jelly. The chilled coconut jelly tastes extremely nice, especially since we were so thirsty after playing badminton.

Everything was perfect, except the spoons they provide. Scraping coconut meat through the small opening on top of the shell was difficult with the flimsy plastic spoon, which can be easily broken if not careful.

On a different matter, saw this in QB later that night.... totties!! The driver must have a hard time keeping the car free of dust.

Somewhere in Penang...

Anyone recognize this place?

Can see Komtar in the background

It's a lorong somewhere along Jalan Magazine, opposite Traders Hotel. Went there with mom yesterday, didn't know that there's such a place in the city. The food there are really cheap. We had a bowl of curry mee (comes with a generous amount of ingredients) for RM2.30 only!

It was a different experience eating there. It was a bit hot, and there were not much tables for customers, and they let you eat on their stalls! We had to watch out for cars coming into the lorong. The lorong was so narrow, the car's side mirror passed by only inches from us. With the bikes parked along the lorong (as in the pic above), the place was even narrower and we had to pause our meal and give way to passing cars. Luckily there weren't a lot of cars passing by.

Georgetown is such an interesting place. If people would take some time to explore the city, they would realized why it was given the Unesco World Heritage Site status. The one thing that might spoil the experience is the heavy modern day traffic - so noisy and polluting. Maybe the government should impose a traffic curfew? Hmm...

MY-NPL Kuantan 2009

Leg 3 of the MY-NPL was held in Kuantan Pahang from the 19th to 22th of June. I was there playing for team Infinity in D3.

Where we stayed - Grand Continental Kuantan

The field there was nice and flat, but there were puddles of water on the field from some rain. After a few games, the puddles eventually turned into mud. The dorito side on field 3 was all muddy, and to make things worse, the mud smells!! There was one game i dived into the mud, the Shocker i was using end up all covered in mud and jammed.

Maybe because of the humidity and mud, my PMR's eyes went cacat and i had to use others' markers. On the brigth side, i get to try out the feeling of 3 high-end markers - Cyborg07, DM9, and the 2007 Shocker :)

Day1 was good, we only lost 2 games out of 8 and got fourth in the rankings. The top16 game against Legio-X Hastati on Day2 was still good, we won 2 games to qualify for the quarter finals.

DM9!!

Why is this guy posing next to the filling station? Promoting Dye's jersey? lol

Team Infinity

On day2, we got kena teruk-teruk by Roughnecks. Two of our dorito side player got laned off the break in round1, after that they just picked us off one by one. Round2 we managed to make a come back, even with 2 of our markers going down at different points of the game. On round3, they turned up their firepower and pinned down all of us, making us unable to move. A few mistakes on our side then gave them the upper hand. We lost.

All exhausted and down after losing...

Unreliable PMR...
I WANT A BOB LONG!!!

Even though we lost, it was still an enjoyable event. Among all the other tournaments we've played, i think we had the most teamwork going on in this event, a big thank you to Shion for his guidance. For the results, go to MY-NPL's official site.

We also get the chance to taste the most delicious satay ever! Their satays come in all sorts of flavours - ayam , daging, perut lembu, kambing, and even arnab!

They have 5 long satay barbeque pits to cope with the high demand...

...and a special 'walk-through' counter just for take-away customers

Daging

Ayam and Kambing

Mee Bakso, never heard b4, but the sauce that came with it was super nice...

It's the South China Sea!! Waves are bigger than Penang's.

Have RM2 Will Do

Want to get something to eat but don't have enough cash on you? Saving on food to cope with the economic downturn? Looking for a light meal for lunch because you had a late breakfast? Whatever your reason is, check this out...

You read that right. It costs only RM2!! This is insane! This is a new stall in Sunshine Square Bayan Baru food court, can't really remember what it's called, I think it's 'Duck Rice King' or something like that. They sell duck rice, char siu rice, roasted pork rice and economy rice (i think they also have chicken rice, not sure about that though). When Momo saw the sign he said this world is going crazy. But wait, with such a ridiculous price, there is a catch...

Yupe, the serving size is really small. A primary school kid would probably still be hungry after one serving. There were like only 4 or 5 pieces of meat on the rice, with a few slices of cucumber. The taste is ok, nothing special. If you're still hungry, order a second one. Two servings for RM4 will surely fill you up, still quite affordable.

Eat your food!!

"Come on people... Appreciate your food!!"

Went for dinner with family at the Fettes Park Cafe, the famous western food place next to the famous chicken rice place.

The food was ok, boleh tahan (that's not the point of this post), but the thing that i tak boleh tahan is the table behind us. Look at their food!!

So much leftovers!! OMG!! They practically ordered a dish, then just ate the meat and left everything else untouched!! Don't they know the meaning of WASTE!?!?! If a homeless man would live off the leftovers, he would even get fat in no time. In fact, he'd become so fat that he'll be unable to fit through the entrance of the cafe!!

For comparison, look at our table.

Squeaky clean!!

18th Oct

"Barrel Sock ON!!"

That was what i was shouting most of the day... This was my first day looking after the field, first to arrive and last to leave.

Two batches came to play today. The first was in the morning, a gang of youngsters, most of them playing for the first time. The second batch was in the evening, a group of adults playing for fun. Those guys in the second batch were using their own high-end e-markers, and they aren't even playing for tournaments! There was one limited edition PM8 Mimosa, one limited edition carbon-finish Etek2, one PM6, and another i don't recognize the model. Cannot TAHAN!!!

PM8 Mimosa. Nice...

Not much training today. Played a few games with the regulars. One of the game was actually not bad, now i know the benefits of playing crossovers, shot out one guy without him even spotting me, woohoo!! (but then i did a wrong move after that and got shot until my left arm became numbed)

Other than that was mostly running around ref-fing games. Oh, and one more thing... i superman-dived with gun i hand for the first time! And it worked out well! :0

Haven't eaten anything but a few buns the whole day, was seriously hungry. Got back home at 8 and guess what... mom made something out of the ordinary for dinner!! :)

Notes to self:
  • Do not have doubts when sliding or diving, JUST DO IT!!
  • Gun should be up as soon as possible after doing a slide or dive.
  • Tuck in arm when snap shooting.
  • Do not over-inflate the bunkers.

Fullest day of my life.

"Ahh.... Full... Feels sick..."

Those are the words that was on my mind the whole night, well at least when i was awake. Last night, we (kok, mo, me) went to Seoul Garden Auto-City and stuffed ourselves as much as we possibly can. The initial plan was to have a simple dinner and then go '1942', but then something came up with kok and he changed the plans. Haiz...

Last night can't really sleep, woke up at 4am and still have the feeling like i've just eaten something!! Then the next day no mood to eat anymore.... sick. I've never over eat until this magnitude...
